OFFICIAL INVITATION AND REGULATIONS

Dear Grandmasters, Masters, Federation Presidents, Instructors, and National Teams, It is my honour to invite you and your athletes to participate in the GTF European Championship & Open European Cup 2026, which will be held in Asiago, Italy, from 7 to 14 September 2026. This event has received the support of the local municipality and Angelo Roffo — Gestione Impianti Sportivi, guaranteeing a high standard of organisation, safety, and comfort. The competitions will take place at the modern Palasport di Mezzaselva (Roana) Multi-purpose Sports Hall.

COMPLIMENTARY ACCOMMODATION & MEALS

The Organising Committee provides full board (accommodation + meals) for the following guests:

  • GTF General Secretary — Grandmaster Chris Gantner
  • All GTF Grandmasters
  • GTF Masters (7th Dan and above) who are accompanying delegations of at least 10 participants each.
Accommodation for the General Secretary and all Grandmasters will be at Vecchia Stazione Mountain Elegance.

The exact number of Masters travelling with delegations and eligible for complimentary accommodation will be confirmed by the Organising Committee after the final entry submissions are received.

All guests must stay exclusively in the designated accredited hotels (see Section “Accommodation and Transport”).

Requests for complimentary accommodation must be submitted by 15 April 2026.

ACCOMMODATION RATES FOR OTHER PARTICIPANTS

All prices are per person per night (as of November 2025; may increase in 2026):
  1. Full board: €92 (€107 for single room)
  2. Breakfast only: €80
  3. Breakfast + dinner: €86

ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORT

Mandatory Accommodation All participants — athletes, coaches, judges, team leaders, and accompanying persons — must stay exclusively in the following accredited hotels:

Pre-booked intercity transfers (airport/train station ↔ Asiago) are available at the following rates (one way):
Mini-bus (9 seats):

Coach (50 seats):

Requests for intercity transfers must be submitted by 1 August 2026.

VISA INFORMATION

Citizens of certain countries require a visa to enter Italy. Visa processing may take up to 90 days. Official invitation letters for visa purposes will be issued only upon request received by 1 June 2026. Requests submitted after this date will not be accepted. Promote and develop GTF Taekwon-Do;
Identify the strongest athletes and teams in Europe;
Strengthen international sports relations;
Enhance skill levels and encourage experience exchange among federations.

2. PARTICIPANTS AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

2.1. Eligibility
Athletes from national GTF member federations
Athletes from non-GTF countries by special invitation

2.2. Mandatory Documents
Passport (original + copy)
Valid GTF Certificate (Dan/Gup)
Accident insurance valid from 6 to 15 September 2026, covering injuries and medical evacuation
Signed Voluntary Waiver of Claims
Preliminary entry form submitted by 1 June 2026
Final official entry form submitted by 1 August 2026

Participation is not permitted without a complete documentation package.

3. AGE AND WEIGHT CATEGORIES

3.1. Age Categories
GTF European Championship (Black Belts only)
  • Children: 10–11, 12–13 years
  • Juniors: 14–15, 16–17 years
  • Adults: 18–39 years
  • Seniors: 40–49 years
  • Veterans: 50–59 years
  • Golden Veterans: 60+ years
Open European Cup (All Ranks)
  • Children: 6–7, 8–9, 10–11, 12–13 years
  • Juniors: 14–15, 16–17 years
  • Adults: 18–39 years
  • Seniors: 40–49 years
  • Veterans: 50–59 years
  • Golden Veterans: 60+ years
Age is calculated as of the competition day, not by calendar year.

4. FORMAL PATTERNS (TUL / HYUNG)

4.1. Black Belts
  • 1st Dan: Kwang-Gae, Po-Eun, Ge-Baek, Jee-Goo
  • 2nd Dan: Eui-Am, Choong-Jang, Jook-Am, Ko-Dang
  • 3rd Dan: Sam-Il, Yoo-Sin, Choi-Yong, Pyung-Hwa
  • 4th Dan and above: Yon-Gae, Ul-Ji, Moon-Moo, Sun-Duk

4.2. Coloured Belts
  • 10th Gup: Saju Jirugi, Saju Makgi
  • 9th Gup: Chon-Ji
  • 8th Gup: Dan-Gun
  • 7th Gup: Do-San / Jee-Sang
  • 6th Gup: Won-Hyo / Jee-Sang
  • 5th Gup: Yul-Gok / Dhan-Goon
  • 4th Gup: Joong-Gun / Dhan-Goon
  • 3rd Gup: Toi-Gye / Dhan-Goon
  • 2nd Gup: Hwa-Rang / Dhan-Goon
  • 1st Gup: Choong-Moo / Dhan-Goon

All patterns must be performed in their original form without modifications.

5. UNIFORM AND DRESS CODE

All participants, officials, and representatives must comply with the official GTF dress code.
5.1. Athletes
  • Must wear the official GTF dobok:
  • Back: "TAEKWON-DO" in capital letters above "GTF"
  • Left chest: GTF patch (over the heart)
  • Left arm (biceps): "Three Globes" patch
  • Left trouser leg (just above knee): "Three Globes" patch
  • Team members: Country name under "GTF" on the back
  • Belt: Black (by Dan) or coloured (by Gup)
  • Opening/Closing Ceremonies: Official GTF dobok only
Prohibited:
  • Wearing dobok trousers with T-shirt and belt
  • Smoking or consuming alcohol while in dobok
  • Competing without official GTF dobok

5.2. Coaches and Team Leaders
During competitions: Sports attire (tracksuit, white sports shoes)
During official ceremonies: Dark blue blazer, black trousers, black sports shoes

5.3. Judges and GTF Officials
In accordance with GTF Umpire Rules:
  • Dark blue blazer, black trousers, black closed shoes
  • White shirt, tie (optional)
  • Official badge indicating position and country
5.4. Flag
Each national team must bring two official national flags: one for the awards ceremony and one for display in the competition hall.

6. SPARRING EQUIPMENT

All sparring participants must wear the full approved protective gear:
  • Helmet (blue or red) — must cover the entire head except the face
  • Gloves — traditional style, open palm, closed fingers; boxing gloves are prohibited
  • Mouthguard — mandatory
  • Shin guards — mandatory
  • Groin guard — mandatory for men, worn inside dobok trousers only
Optional (permitted):
  • Forearm guards
  • Chest protector (for women)
  • Groin guard (for women)
General Requirements:
  • Made of elastic material with foam or soft rubber padding
  • Must not contain: metal, bone, hard plastic, zippers, buttons, rivets
  • Jewellery, watches, hard hair clips are prohibited
  • Hair must be tied with soft elastics
  • Fingernails and toenails must be shortly trimmed
Attention:
Athletes who fail to present full equipment within 1 minute of being called to the ring will be disqualified from sparring (per GTF Tournament Rules).

7. AWARDS AND SCORING SYSTEM

7.1. Competition Forma
  • Individual events: Olympic elimination system (single elimination after first loss)
  • Team events: Direct matches; Win = 2 points, Draw = 1 point
7.2. Team Standings
  • Gold medal = 3 points
  • Silver medal = 2 points
  • Bronze medal = 1 point
7.3. Individual and Team Awards
  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in individual and team events receive medals and diplomas
  • Top 3 teams in overall standings receive trophies
  • All participants receive certificates of participation
  • Coaches of winning teams may receive commemorative medals (at Organiser’s discretion)
7.4. Power Breaking & Special Technique Awards
  • Individual events: Only the 1st place is awarded (gold medal + diploma); no silver or bronze
  • Team events: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places are awarded only if at least 4 teams compete
  • If fewer than 4 teams participate, the Organising Committee may cancel the event or award only 1st place
  • All medals earned in these disciplines count toward the overall team standings (gold = 3 pts, silver = 2, bronze = 1)

8. FINAL PROVISIONS

  • The competition shall be conducted according to the GTF Tournament Rules 2017 and this document
  • In case of conflict, this document takes precedence
  • The Organising Committee reserves the right to:
  1. Merge categories due to low participation
  2. Adjust the number of disciplines
  3. Modify the schedule based on operational needs

9. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

9.1. GTF European Championship (GTF Members Only)
  • Individual (Black Belt): €100
  • Team (5+1 men / 3+1 women): €100
9.2. Open European Cup (All Participants)
  • Individual entry: €75 (Includes: GTF coloured belts, non-GTF coloured belts, non-GTF black belts)
9.3. Additional disciplines
Power Breaking and Special Technique are considered "additional disciplines" and require a separate entry fee. The fee for each additional discipline is €30.
9.4. Free Entry
  • GTF Black Belts who have paid for the European Championship may enter the Open Cup free of charge
  • Spectators, coaches, and accompanying persons: Free of charge
9.5. Payment Terms
  • All fees must be paid in Euros
  • Payment options: on-site at registration or bank transfer by 1 August 2026
  • Bank fees and currency exchange differences are the sender’s responsibility
  • No refunds will be issued
